口语丨如何跟老外愉快地『聊天』？

我们常常会经历与老外在一起的社交场合，比如公司宴请、私人Party等等，然而和外国人聊两三句就没话题的迷之尴尬常常让我们头冒三道冷汗，那么到底该如何打开话闸？聊些什么呢？

开篇：介绍你自己

初次见面，切莫觉得紧张，Keep it natural！中国人、外国人都是人，放下压力才能松弛自然地交流。你可以从简单的自我介绍开始，who you're, where you're from：

√ Hi, I'm Sophie, and you are?

其实对方在听了你的名字后，基本上会自然地告诉你他／她的名字，如此便可以strike up a conversation开始聊天了。示例：

S: Hi, I'm Sophie. Nice to meet you!

J: Hey, how's it going? My name is John. Where are you from?

S: I'm from Qingdao. What about you?

J: I come from the States, D.C. But I bounced around a bit over the past few years, so it's kind of hard to tell where I'm really from at this point.

S: I've been to the States almost ten times. But I've never been to DC, and I've always wanted to go.

J: You should check it out sometime. We've got a lot of cool stuff there. A lot of free museums are really fun to go to.

问名字如果用“What's your name?”则显得过于僵硬和小学生了。

拓展：聊场景谈场合

两人简单打完招呼之后该聊些什么呢？最最简单的办法就是聊聊所在的场合＋适当扩展，比如你们刚刚一起看完一个演讲，你可以说：

√ Hey, is it just me or did that speech make you wanna go to sleep, too? 嘿，是只有我一个人觉得困还是刚才那个演讲让你也犯困？或者严肃些：

√ That was a great speech！这个演讲太棒了！

接下来你们可就此次演讲交流你们各自的看法。

聊工作也是不错的选择

除了 "What's your job?"，还有更多问法：

如果你已经知道对方工作的行业(industry specific)，可以这么问：

√ What company are you with？

如果你什么都不知道，那么可以这么问：

√ What do you do for a living?

√ What kind of work do you do?

接着这些问题，可以继续问下去：

How long have you been working at this company?

How long have you been working in marketing?

When did you start your own company?

如何结束谈话

结束谈话，可以用下面三个步骤：

1. 释放结束信号

√ It's been really nice meeting you.

√ It's been a pleasure meeting you.

√ It's been very nice talking to you.

2. 交换联络方式

√ Let's keep in touch.

√ Could I have your WeChat?

3. 最后说Enjoy

√ Enjoy the rest of the/your day/evening.

√ Enjoy the rest of the/your stay.
